DAY 12, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23
Assignment: Your second essay will be due in final draft form next Tuesday on your blogs. It will be a 4-paragraph essay on Chapter 2 of To Kill a Mockingbird. The first body paragraph (eleven sentences) should discuss one important theme or motif in the chapter, and the second body paragraph (also eleven sentences) should relate that theme to something in your own life (someone you know, an experience you had, something you believe, etc.)
CHECK OUT LYDIA'S ESSAY #4 UNDER "MODEL ESSAYS (CLASS OF 2009)".
IT'S A GOOD ONE TO USE AS A MODEL.
(By the way, a motif is something that recurs over and over in an essay, story, or poem. It could be a word, a color, an idea, a feeling, etc. It's repeated often enough that it becomes very important.)

Another note: Perhaps you should write the essay directly on Buzzword instead of Word. However, you don't have to share it with me until the final draft is ready, next Tuesday.
BE PROUD OF YOUR WORK!
