NO SCHOOL TOMORROW
Assignment: Your third essay will be due in final draft form next Monday night on your blogs. It will be a 4-paragraph essay based on Calpurnia's lecture to Scout about what she calls "comp'ny" (p. 32-33). In the first body paragraph, discuss Cal's thoughts about company. Using the 8-sentence formula (just two chunks), you would want to focus on two points she makes to Scout. The second body paragraph (also 8-sentence format) should discuss an incident in your own life when, like Scout, you didn't especially enjoy the "company" that was visiting in your home. Like Scout, be sure to give specific details about the visit. (An alternative would be to discuss a time when you DID enjoy the company, and why you enjoyed it so much.)
Of course, in both body paragraphs be sure to use short quotes from TKAM to support your assertions and to tie the essay together into a closed circle.
