Essay #19 -- A favorite band and Romeo and Juliet

Directions: Write a 4-paragraph essay in which you discuss the music of one of your favorite bands, and how it relates to something in the play. Use the 8-sentence formula for the body paragraphs. Be sure to include a self-assessment with the second draft for grading on Tuesday night.

Tonight, write the first body paragraph, in which you discuss the lyrics of one or two songs by your favorite band. Explain what they mean to you, and why you like the song(s). Be sure to use brief quotes from the song(s) to support your points. Post the paragraph on your blog tonight.

In tonight's paragraph, include one apt thesaurus word, and one example of an appositive.

By Monday night, post your second body paragraph, in which you discuss how a song by your favorite band relates to something in the play. Does it remind you of Romeo's strange moodiness? Does it relate to the hatred that exists between the two families? Or something else?

Of course, be sure to use brief quotes from both the song and the play. 

As usual, the entire essay will be due on your blog next Tuesday night.
